Beth Harris and her husband Keith, desperately want a child, but Beth has lost several pregnancies. Her mother, Suzanne, a controller, gets on Beth’s nerves, although they love each other.
Suzanne feels that her husband Jake is the only person who truly cares for and understands her. When she finally confesses a secret from her teenage years, Beth cannot forgive her.
Suzanne and Jake quarrel one Saturday a.m. Jake and Keith leave to play golf. That evening, both women learn how quickly life can change.
A young police officer, Tony Barnett, tries to help people in trouble, especially pretty blondes with fatherless children. However, he sometimes says things that cause problems, for which he must apologize. That includes to Suzanne.
After Beth rejects her, Suzanne isolates herself. Her friend, Nancy, Pastor Alan and Beth realize almost too late that Suzanne is in big trouble.
Will Tony straighten out the problems he’s unwittingly created? Will each character learn the importance of forgiving quickly? Will Suzanne let Beth be Beth?
This story will engross readers in the lives of characters with problems that could happen to any of us. The characters decisions can challenge everyone to find real peace in the midst of major difficulties.
