Sometimes a small book comes out that I wish everyone could/would read–146 pages of how to live of life with no regrets—a  life full of true satisfaction.

Pastor Kevin Deyoung clearly understands issues about which we may unwittingly believe half-truths. For example, we often suspect holiness is difficult, limiting and unworkable. Holiness actually provides what our hearts long for the most.

We unknowingly allow verbal and cognitive machetes in the culture to hack away at our souls, not realizing our souls are more precious than pure gold to God.

Deyoung’s chapter on sexuality is especially good. Our oversexed culture subtly implants its standards into our minds. We don’t realize how that limits the joy in our relationship with a loving, creative God.

The Hole in our Holiness is a well-thought out and well-written book that covers a number of important areas of our lives.

About samcivy

I read my first book a week after beginning first grade and haven't slowed down in seventy years. My system often wakes me in the night so I keep books on a chair in the bathroom and do a LOT of reading. I'm a free-lance writer/editor and review books for various authors as well as Thomas Nelson Publishers and Amazon.com. I will soon be posting books for a blog tour by KathyWillis.com, a book promoter.
